Big Brother 8 Blog Up Now!

Years ago, CBS debuted a new reality series called Big Brother. Back then, the cast was older, the show was more interactive, high-speed internet access was rare, and the live-feeds were tiny, grainy images of a chicken coop for most of the day.

Since then, the show has evolved into a summer guilty pleasure with eye-candy abound. Though there have been new twists in the game (the Power of Veto), new architecture in the house (the addition of a second story and HoH suite) and new houseguests to compete (hotties like Kaysar from BB6 and BB7), the show remains the most real of reality tv.

Unlike most reality shows, which are completely at the mercy of their editors, Big Brother offers something different: a live internet feed from inside the house. This allows viewers to watch all the plotting, strategizing, and back-stabbing that takes place during an average day in the house as it's happening. These live feeds are what make the show so much better than other "reality" programs like Survivor or The Real World.

Big Brother also has one of the most dedicated fan communities on the web. BB fans are up at all house, watching the feeds, taking screen caps, summarizing any updates, and discussing their favorite alliances. While it may not exactly be Monday Night Football, fans of this show are more into it than any die-hard arm-chair-quarterback.

I've been a fan of Big Brother since the first season and I only missed one episode due to a huge storm that passed through my neighborhood and knocked out the power.

Last year, I started a blog for Big Brother All-Stars, my dream season, featuring some of my favorite players from seasons past. That blog became pretty popular, and I've decided to go for it again this year with Big Brother 8.

This new blog will feature updates, commentary, links and even a few screencaps or YouTube videos from this season and maybe even from past seasons too.

Mike Boogie Wins BB7!

The past few days in the Big Brother house have been completely irrelevant to me. I cancelled the feeds after Janelle’s eviction, so I had no real idea what had been going on in the house and hadn’t done many updates in a little while. I just couldn’t stand the idea of watching two horrible losers make out all day long. Gross!

Tonight was finale night for Big Brother 7 All-Stars, marking the official end of summer. The show began by talking about evicted houseguests, with an extra long section about Janelle. Who could blame them, she and Kaysar are the most popular houseguests in the history of the show! Anyway, the show progressed with more boring filler and then we finally got to the jury questioning.

I was undecided about who I hoped would win during most of their boring and rehearsed answers. Erika tried to take credit for nearly every eviction in the game and dubbed herself the new puppetmaster. Everyone knows the only real puppetmaster is Will, so that entire little speech was irrelevant. Erika also tried to pathetically dismiss her lame non-strategy by reminding everyone that the floating game got her right to the end. The jury all looked ill as she tried to BS her way through each question.

I was still undecided until Boogie answered Danielle’s question. Danielle thought she’d be clever and cutting by asking Boogie why he betrayed her after telling her he was her Jason for this season. For those of you who didn’t see season 3, Jason, the religious virgin, formed an alliance with Danielle very early on in the game and they were completely honest with each other, landing them both very close to the prize. Danielle finished in second place that season and a lot of that was due to Jason having her back. Danielle was upset this season because apparently Boogie had promised her a similar deal and then backstabbed her in the end. Boogie could have easily given some stupid cliché answer, but instead he called her on her own scheming. He essentially told her, many other people were also promised the honor of being “her Jason” this season and she backstabbed them all, so why was it any different when he did it to her. That was a great point and I was actually very impressed that he pointed that out to someone on the jury. I think it really put Danielle in her place and made the jury realize that they were all in the sequester house for one reason: they were outplayed by Chill Town.

Even though Erika tried to take credit for every strategic move that Will and Boogie made, it was clear to all the evictees that the real reason they had been outplayed was because Chill Town is an unstoppable force in the game. Mike made a point to mention that he and Will entered the game as a team and loudly proclaimed their alliance from day one, yet everyone avoided targeting them and it lead them right into the final four. It was completely true. Everyone in that jury house was there because they didn’t remove Chill Town when the had the chance and it bit them in the ass later on. It was true, Chill Town just played a better game.

We were almost ready for the votes to be read, everyone put their key in the box and then Julie brought out the first evicted houseguests from this season. The only important one was Kaysar, though Jase’s comments are always amusing. Kaysar, who had been allowed to watch the shows, told Janelle and Howie about James entering the game with a “chip on his shoulder” and quickly turning on his one time teammates. Then, to confirm that James was a total traitor to the group, BB played a video clip of James saying that he was going after Janelle and calling her fat and other harsh names. Janelle seemed a bit shocked, but handled it in an amusing backhanded way. She said that James’ attitude didn’t surprise her because he’s always been “such a whiner”, which is completely true. The best part was that after she said that and James gave his little response, Kaysar (whose luscious locks are growing back nicely) looked at James like he wanted to punch him in the face. It was hot because it was Kaysar, but also really entertaining because I was waiting for someone from BB6 to realize what a traitor James was and feel like kicking his ass.

Even better than that was BB finally exposing Boogie’s mean comments about Erika (which I addressed earlier in this blog). Alison said she wanted to tell Erika that she had been played like a common whore by Mike all season long. Julie offered just that opportunity by allowing Alison to talk to the final two houseguests. Alison said, “Erika, I hope you use that money to buy yourself some dignity.” Erika looked on like Alison was just being bitchy…. Until they played Boogie’s diary room footage! They began with Erika describing how much she liked Boogie and how she had “met her mate in the Big Brother house.” Then they cut to Boogie in the dairy room calling his relationship with Erika a ho-mance and saying “America now knows that Erika is, in fact, a ho!” Her smile began to sink as the footage rolled on. When it finally stopped, she looked down at the floor, perhaps finally realizing that Boogie had been playing her the whole time and had no interest in a real relationship with her. While my hatred for Boogie is, in his words, strong to quite strong, my hatred for Erika is almost immeasurable so this was totally hilarious for me. The girl whored herself thinking that she had found love only to find out on national television that Boogie was not into her at all. The sound of her ego bubble bursting was almost audible.

Finally the winner was announced and, with a 6-1 victory, Boogie took home the championship. I hate to say it, but he really did play a great game. This season was truly one of the apprentice outwitting the master and Boogie did just that. He learned from Dr. Will and he managed to get all the way to the end. This proves that Chill Town is a real BB dynasty, the ultimate alliance. The reason is that they never double-crossed each other through out the entire game. Every other group, most notably the BB6 alliance, suffered enough dissention and insecurity that they collapsed upon themselves. Chill Town really did play the game better than anyone else, and that’s exactly why that alliance has produced two winners.

Anyway, with the BB season at a close, I just want to say thanks to everyone who read this blog and to all those who create, write for, transcribe, manage and visit all the countless BB sites out there. Skeletor and Booger

That's all she wrote BB fans. Horrible Erika threw the HoH competition to that awful wigger Mike Boogie and Janelle was evicted. It looks like no one the fans like will ever win the show. I'm over BB and I don't know if I'm even going to watch the finale. The only reason I would watch it is to check out Kaysar one last time.

Next year's BB will be a brand new crew of back stabbers and liars. I don't know if I'll even watch it. All-Stars was supposed to be the best season because it was the toughest players. Instead, the final two are two losers who have played sidekick to their stronger counterparts. Sad.

For now, we'll just have to relive the good old days of BB on YouTube. By the way, thanks to all those people who have posted BB videos from the shows and the feeds. Also, thanks to BB Chat and Morty's TV for all the updates, screencaps and chats.

Big Boy Gets a Bad Rap

I had to re-watch last night's episode because when I originally saw it, I was so excited and shocked that Dr. Will was getting voted out that I pretty much forgot the rest. I wanted to address Howie's behavior in the sequester house and how CBS is making Howie out to be a horrible bully.

First of all, I agree with most of you that Howie picking on Chicken George was uncalled for. George is just a sweet, dimwitted old guy and it's wrong for Howie to lay into him so hard. At the same time, it was George who struck first when he stabbed Howie in the back by nominating him and letting Boogie make sure Howie was evicted. Howie trusted George and I think he has a right to be pissed about what happened. He was betrayed by George and he wanted to let George know that he was angry about it. In that respect, that's why there are cameras at the sequester house: so that all the scorned house guests can continue to battle each other and we can all watch.

Despite Howie's immature behavior, I don't think he should be made out to be some big bully. Howie has been a really cool guy, a loyal friend to Kaysar and Janie, and one of the funniest guys in the house this season and people are so quick to forget about why we all like Howie as soon as he starts getting out of control. CBS and Gretchen Massey from House Calls bash Howie endlessly and it's just not accurate. Howie is a good guy, just look at the tapes from the past two seasons, he's just hurt and he doesn't know how to deal with it so he acts all crazy and aggressive. I think what Jase said on House Calls today was really true about Howie: he feels like his life is over now that he's out of the game. Jase has always said that season 6 was in trouble from the start of the game because they took it way too seriously. They hadn't ben out of the house long enough, so the game was their life for the past few years. Others had time to unwind and think about things in between their seasons and All-Stars. For Howie, the prospect of being out of BB6 and now out of All-Stars might be the most terrifying thing in his life. Now he's mad and he wants to unleash all his rage on the person who he thinks ruined his life, the one that nominated him, George. It's really no surprise. Nearly everyone has had a breakdown of some kind during this season.

So why are people dumping on Howie so much? I admit that he has definitely done some things he'll probably regret, and at times he's behaved like a big overgrown 10 year old, but (incase everyone forgot) that's Howie! That's the guy we loved in season 6, the guy people voted back in the house, the guy we laughed at! I expected this kind of fair-weather fan-ship in American Idol, but people are usually more loyal to their BB favorites. How can you vote Howie back in because he's big and obnoxious and loud and then fault him for being he's big and obnoxious and loud? The only problem is that Howie has carried his "character" too far. Where as before he was big and obnoxious and loud to the people we hated, now he'd just that way to everyone.

So all you former Howie fans that have turned on him, just remember, he's the same Howie you once loved so much, he's just and extreme version of himself right now.

JANELLE EVICTS WILL

Jedi Janie was back with a vengeance tonight as she cast the night's only eviction vote and did away with the Evil Doctor. There were several times when I lost faith in everyone's favorite buxom blonde Jedi warrior, but by evicting the greatest player in the history of the game the girl proved that she was the real Keyser Soze! In the words of our dear Kaysar, she "caught the bigger fish."

I don't even know what more can be said about tonight's episode. The look on Mike Boogie's face when Will walked out the door was just like the credit card commercials say... priceless!

My only hope now is that Janie will win part 2 and part 3 of the final HoH competition and she will take Erika with her to the final two and eliminate all traces of Chill Town from the house!

Ho-mance!

Wow! That's all I can say about Boogie in last night's episode. He proved that he can take malicious to a whole new level. Everyone already knew he was a jerk for evicting our Season 6 favorites, manipulating the "Legion of Doom" and intimidating George into evicting Howie, but this time Boogie has reached an all new low.

In the episode, Boogie stated in the harshest possible terms that he had no interest in Erika and even made comments about her being old and looking less than stunning. Of course, all this was inter-cut with diary room footage of Erika talking about how much she loved him and how she hoped to one day have a baby with him. On top of that, BB also showed us more than plenty of scenes of Boogie and Erika fooling around under the sheets. I can't stand Erika, but I think it's really, really wrong for Boogie to maliciously exploit her and make her look like a common whore on TV.

Even worse than that--actually, nothing is worse than telling a girl you love her and want to have a baby with her and then calling her old and ugly on national TV--but adding to that horrible scene, the final four houseguests were sitting in the hot tub and Will was suggesting that they have a baby. It seemed like a joke, but Erika took it very seriously. Now it seems like even Will thinks they're in love, something that will no doubt make Erika fall for Boogie even more. On top of that, I'm down right worried about what she might do. The girl's crazy in love with him, she just might try to have his baby and he might go with it just to make BB history. He wants to be the first person to knock up a chick in the BB house. That would be so vile and creepy of him that it should constitute a crime. Still, I wouldn't put it past him.

Boogie admitted in the diary room that Erika would be "very hurt" when she found out about all the horrible things he's said about her and how much he's used her in the house. He pretended to feel a bit guilty about his behavior, but that didn't seem to stop him. In fact, the thought of absolutely crushing Erika and possibly ruining her life actually seemed to excite him. That was what was so disturbing for me, the fact that he knew he was going to destroy this girl and he was actually stoked on it. It would be different if he really did like her and then got out of the house and was over her. Instead, he aims to cruelly exploit her and even implied that he would get her pregnant if it meant he would win the game.

The problem, at least in my view, is that Boogie is convinced what he's doing with Erika is no different than what Will does with Janelle. Will exploits Janelle and uses her crush on him to get her to do his dirty work in the game. He flirts with her and then claims to not really be into her when he's in the diary room. He even lies to her about the final two, just like Boogie and Erika. Still, when Will does these things to America's Buxom Blonde Sweetheart, he never does it with the intention to hurt her, only to get farther in the game. Also, Will tells her flat out, "I have a girlfriend, I'm not into you." It's Janelle's own ego (and a rightfully earned ego at that--she's gorgeous!) that makes her believe she can have any man she wants, including Will, as long as she turns up the charm. Janelle likes the fact that she has to pursue Will and she knows that Will is a challenge. She's not under the impression that after the show, she and Will will get married and have a baby. Another difference is that, as she said a million times, Janelle has also been playing Will to get farther in the game. They're the two greatest competitors in BB history and they're having an epic battle to see who is really more of a bad ass manipulator. They're both playing each other and they're being open about that to each other, so neither one is being completely blind-sided by the other. Mike Boogie, on the other hand, is toying with Erika in a very hurtful and mean-spirited way that only shows what a complete jerk he is.

I really hope that Erika is ok after the show, because this is probably the harshest thing I've ever seen on BB in all 7 seasons. I can't imagine what it'll be like for her to get out and find that Boogie not only lied to her about the game, but also completely fabricated his feelings for her and said terrible things about her behind her back all while he was claiming to love her. That situation will definitely be very ugly...especially considering he knew what he was doing and didn't stop.

10:30PM BBT: Erika and Boogie keep looking at each other in that way. Janelle and Will are on the HoH balcony, not really playing cards, they're holding cards, and whispering, giggling, and cuddling. Will says, "I like you" and Janelle said, "I like you a lot." Janelle said, "I really wish I could kiss you" and "I want you." Will responded (no longer whispering) with, "Just play cards." A little later... Will told Janelle to stop whispering and he keeps saying no when she says she wants to tell him something, but, he keeps going to her anyway. Janelle whispered, "What about your girlfriend?" and Will said "We'll figure it out."

Oh, c'mon guys! Just hook up already! I'd bet the $500K that this isn't Janie's first time stealing someone's boyfriend, so what's the big deal?! They're the two most bad ass players in the history of the game, it's only fitting they get together. The two hottest movie stars ever hooked up, so why can't the two best houseguests ever do it too?

I love their little romance. It's the only entertaining thing left on the show because it looks like I'm gonna hate whoever wins anyway. That is, unless the winner is Will or Janelle.

Why I hate James and Mike Boogie

Tonight’s episode was an absolute outrage! First, Mike Boogie is so horrible that I actually started to feel sick watching him parade around, puffing out his chest like some kind of macho man. We all know that even Chicken George could kick Boogie’s ass. Please Big Brother Gods, figure out a way to humiliate and evict Mike Boogie so that I don’t have to throw up watching BB anymore! And him and Erika making out in the tub--sorry, I just puked a little-- was absolutely ghastly!

As if Mike Boogie’s egomaniacal display wasn’t enough, tonight we saw that the pressure started to get to Jedi Janie. After Howie’s eviction, Janie was seen crying in her bed. Janie has NEVER shed a single tear about the game before and I hope someone pays for breaking down the princess! I may have been pissed at her over Kaysar’s eviction, but I never hoped that the game would make her cry. She’s so tough and it proves how bad things must be for her to get that upset.

She claimed that the tears were all part of a performance, but having watched Janie last season, I really think she was crying because of real emotion. She’s got to be surprised that her dream team has fallen apart and that the only two people she could trust 100%, Kaysar and Howie, are now gone.

Even worse, she feels like that was all her fault because of her bad evictions during her HoH week. In a way, it is her fault. As soon as she put the goggles on Diane instead of Boogie or Erika in that veto competition, she sealed her alliance’s fate to save her own ass. It was a crappy move and it directly lead to Kaysar and Howie’s eviction as well as James’ dissention from the group. At the same time, it wasn’t ALL Janie’s fault. I’d love to say that Kaysar played a perfect game and did nothing wrong during his HoH week, but he began a series of cop-outs by shying away from nominating Chill Town. Even James was able to evict Jase, a powerful new Chill Towner. Still, though some of the responsibility for the two Jedi evictions has to go to Will and Boogie, or as I call them Woogie. They have been controlling the game from day one and now they’re going to ride their power wave all the way to the top.

Aside from the fall of the Jedi Knights, there have been some interesting moves in the game that I just couldn’t resist talking about.

First, they may both claim that they’re playing each other, but Will and Janie seem to be falling head over heels for each other. Each of them has had a chance to back stab the other and evict them, but every time, they’ve both passed and chosen to stick together. This past episode showed us two great examples of this. First, when horrible Boogie won his HoH and celebrated with his whore Skeletor, his “best friend” Will wasn’t right at his side celebrating. Instead, Will was tenderly wiping away the pie from Janelle’s face. What is that?! Since when has Will, the Evil Doctor, ever cared enough about Janie to wipe her face and console her when she’s sad?! There was more evidence for Will’s real feelings when he and Boogie both protected Janelle in the veto competition and even helped her out. They only care about each other, yet, for some reason, they keep protecting Janelle. Will claims that it’s so Janie can go after Danielle and Erika later on in the game, but Boogie could easily do that or they could just manipulate Chicken George into doing it. They don’t really NEED Janie, they just WANT her around.

Anyway, no one could ever replace Kaysar as my absolute favorite HG ever. I like him even more than I liked my previous favorite, Hardy from BB2. That being said, something about Dr. Will is getting to me and I’m starting to go to the dark side. It reminds me of the South Park episode where Cartman was trying to get Scott Tenorman. Scott keeps outwitting Cartman and Cartman says, “He’s a charmer, that Scott Tenorman, he just charmed me!” That’s how I feel about Will. There’s so much I dislike about Will, but he’s so damn funny and charming that I end up totally loving him. It’s really not that shocking, the same exact thing happened to me in BB2. I totally loved Hardy, he was kind, he was honest, he played the game well (like Kaysar), but for some reason at the end of the show, I had a little crush on Will. I feel like a horrible person even typing that! Like I said, that doesn’t change the fact that I like Kaysar the best.

In other news, it looks like James might go this week, and I’m happy. He broke from the group too quickly and that lead to the demise of everything they had built. James played the same way last year, but apparently he didn’t learn that when you play both sides, at some point they’re both going to realize it and turn on you. It can only get you so far before it bites you in the ass. Besides, I really think James has rage issues. His temper is really intense. The way he threw a fit when Janelle grabbed the Marcellas doll before him was really revealing about his personality. He pushed and shoved her and that was just uncalled for. Then he had the audacity to whine about it in the diary room! He acted like CBS shoved him out of the way of the doll and handed it to Janie. It was completely immature and it showed that, as soon as things don’t go his way, the pouts like a little baby. James played a good game in the past, but now he’s making things personal and it’s really stupid. After all, it is a reality TV game show, not life and death.

Alright BB fans, this is getting long and I’m sure I’m boring you with my ranting about the past few episodes. I’d been away for a while because I was trying to find a reason to give a crap about the show after Kaysar’s eviction. Now, I think the only reason I might have is watching the budding Will/Janie romance and keeping my fingers crossed that Boogie gets evicted… painfully!

Let’s hope that Boogie’s friendship with Will will end soon, and so will his career!

Eviction Tragedy

Well... I don't really care what happens now. Kaysar was voted out (on his birthday!) and Dr. Will seems to be running things. I'm happy because Kaysar lasted longer than my original pre-show prediction (I had him going week 2) but unfortunately, he's the last person to be evicted before sequester. Right now, I'm going with my original prediction of Will or James as the winner. I'll be back on finale night, or maybe sooner if something really goes down.

While I'm still super pissed that Kaysar is going this week and have boycotted the feeds, my mom has been watching them religiously. She recently informed me that, not only is Janie 100% with Chill Town, but she is also acting like a skanky Paris Hilton and flirting it up with Will to a sickening degree. It seems there was a situation in which Janie and the Chill Town boys created a band and were going to do a song in the shower/bathtub. When Janie got in with the guys, she pretended to be slipping and fell all over them. Apparently Boogie copped a big feel and she just giggled like a hoochie. Oh no, Janelle! Not you too! If this crap is true, then I'm glad Kaysar gets to go home. Id' probably lose my lunch if I had to be around the new Janie all day. That Will Kirby is like Scott Tenorman from South Park. He's a charmer, that's all. He just charmed her.

In other news, with Kaysar leaving, I'm trying to think of any reason I should keep watching. Any suggestions? For now, I'm going to enjoy some other network becuase CBS has let me down once again.

Dr. Will – I’d imagine many of you thought you’d never see the day when I put the Evil Doctor on the rising BB stock list. Will is smart and incredibly calculating. He’s proven that he’s the best player in the house by manipulating Janelle and his “I don’t care” attitude might just take him to the end again.

James – despite declaring war on America’s sweetheart, Janelle, James has shown that he is a very skilled player. We all knew that his alliance with BB6 was bound to be short-lived, but he’s managed to break from the group without completely torching his bridges. That’s the mark of a true mastermind.

--STEADY--

Kaysar – Yes, it’s a tragedy that my favorite might go this week, but in recent days he hasn’t exactly been Mr. Entertaining. Kaysar’s been laying low and flying under the radar to the point where his game play has become rather boring. He’s not scheming like James, or willing to make bold moves like he was last year. That was fine when his team was in power, but now he needs to step up and make some moves to keep himself in the game.

Howie – While Howie fluctuates from funny to obnoxious on a daily basis, this week he’s been the same old same old. He seems loyal to his team, which is good, but it doesn’t seem like there’s much else going on in his head at any given moment either.

DOWN

Marcellas – I normally love Marci and, as he proclaimed on the first episode, he’s “America’s black gay sweetheart”. Still, he’s been quite the diva lately and he’s really shown what he’s made of by trying to sell everyone out to the opposing team. His two faced moves made him quickly fall from grace in my book.

Janelle – When I first saw the secret HoH room conversation between Will and Janelle, I thought “this is awesome, Janelle’s totally playing Will. She’s going to get all the information from him and then nominate him!” Unfortunately, it was the exact opposite. It seems that the so-called greatest player was really getting played herself. Janelle’s flirting with Will was entertaining at first, but it seems she lost track of her game play as things backfired and she developed a crush on the Evil Doctor. It’s pretty obvious when you watch her behavior that she likes Will, but it’s too bad that she won’t come clean about it to the rest of her alliance.

Danielle – This rating is more of a preemptive strike against Dani in case she nominates Kaysar this week as a replacement for Janelle. While Dani should probably go in the “steady” category, anyone who gets Kaysar evicted is the person I’ll hate the most. Besides, eliminating everyone’s favorite Muslim Brad Pitt is never a good career move, just ask Jen from last year.

The Fall of the BB6 Dynasty

I’m absolutely on pins and needles this week! To begin with, this is the first non BB6 HoH week. Danielle won this week in the spider web competition. She put up James and Janelle, two members of BB6. That’s all fine and good because at least it wasn’t Kaysar… but James is in her alliance and… Janelle won the veto. Who does that leave as the last big threat of BB6? Kaysar! Oh no!

This evening, I turned on the feeds to hear the houseguests talking about the veto competition. Apparently, it involved receiving or losing points depending on which “deal” they accepted. It seems that one of the deals was that someone could win money/points if they put the whole house on slop. According to gossip, it was Marcellas that took the deal, and the house is pissed. In actuality, I think it was really Janelle who put the house on slop, but if she passes the blame off to Marcellas, everyone will be mad at him and hopefully Danielle will put him up in her place instead of nominating Kaysar.

At this point, I’m totally over Janelle and Marcellas. The first couple weeks, I loved them both. Janelle was rocking in the competitions and Marcellas was providing hilarious commentary in his diary room segments (the Iraqi Peach rant) and making things fun in the house. By most accounts Janelle blew her HoH week by directly targeting the floaters and then lying about it to everyone in her own alliance. When she chose to put the goggles on Dianne instead of Boogie, it was clear that her loyalties were only to herself and she was willing to sell out everyone in her team. Then instead of coming clean about it to Kaysar and James, she lied and said that she just wasn’t thinking and gave the goggles to Dianne instead of Boogie because Dianne was closer to her. Of course, the boys quickly spotted that as a lie because Janelle has never played the game without thinking. She saved Boogie because she had a deal with him and that ended up screwing her and the rest of her alliance. James had every right to be infuriated with her, which he was, and subsequently declare war on her, which he did.

Marcellas has been slightly bugging me since way back when Kaysar won HoH. He’s completely two faced and his over-the-top drama can cross the line from entertaining to annoying in seconds. Lately, he’s been kissing BB6’s ass as long as they’re in power and the turning around and telling the floaters that they need to target Janelle and BB6. Marcellas is simply too dramatic and has shown that he’s a malicious and sneaky player.

Thankfully, as of a few minutes ago, Will and Boogie were mad at Marcellas and claiming they wanted him voted out. I think there’s some validity to this. Will and Boogie, along with BB6, said they don’t want to be trapped in sequester with Marcellas, and who could blame them?! They also all believe that Marcellas was the one who sold out the whole house this week. On top of that, Danielle doesn’t really like Marcellas and knows he wants to come after her as soon as he gets a chance. Since Will seems to be the one leading the house, let’s hope he can convince Danielle to nominate Marcellas instead of Kaysar—that is, if he isn’t lying about wanting Marcellas out.

I saw this coming as soon as I read that Danielle had won HoH. This would have been the perfect week for her to get Janelle via Six Finger Plan. If she nominated James and Kaysar or Howie from the beginning the odds were in James’ favor to win the veto. Then, once James wins, she puts up Janelle and they vote Janelle out. It was so simple! Instead, she put up Janelle and James, a stupid move because Janelle wins all the competitions. Of course Janelle was going to win the veto and the plan was going to fail!

Naturally, I’m most upset about this because it probably means that Kaysar will be voted out this week. Of course this has to happen, Kaysar gets voted out just as I have tons of free time to watch the feeds online! I can only hope now that the house will turn on Marcellas and he’ll go up instead. Fingers crossed!

Big Brother Blues

Lately Kaysar, my favorite as you all know, has been feeling down in the dumps. It’s really a shame because I know we all like to see him when he’s happy, twirling his hair, and planning out that perfect strategy. Now, the hair is gone, the strategy is shaky at best, and he sleeps all day and never smiles. Poor Kaysar. I wonder what’s going on with him. This bout of depression reminded me of other Big Brother breakdowns through out the history of the game.

One of my favorites was in Big Brother 2 when Hardy, who played with integrity like Kaysar, became really depressed because he felt like the game was bringing out the worst in him. He went around the house telling everyone not to talk strategy with him anymore and he cried to Nicole that he felt like plotting against others made him feel like an ugly person. The truth is, that’s why it’s on TV. Plotting against people is just the name of the game and no one can make it out completely clean. Even last year’s assassin Janelle has had a tough time of keeping emotions out of the game.

Nearly everyone in Big Brother 1 had a breakdown while in the house. They were the guinea pigs of the network and they didn’t realize how the boredom and new relationships would affect them so deeply. I remember tons of tears that season about many things, in particular Brittany’s issues with Josh, her in-house crush at the time. The friendships people form are real and intensified so emotions are running high. It’s rough, but that just so happens to be the formula for good TV.

The players have to understand: at some point, you’re gonna feel like crap. Being locked in a house for months with people who are all trying to backstab you and “throw you under the bus” to save their own asses is not a perfect scenario for a good time. Even the “just circuitry and wires” Evil Doctor went through a brief sad period when he talked about wanting to leave.

Even worse, some of the houseguests have real emotional bonds to each other. BB6, Woogie, and a few others are lucky because they got to enter the house with people who have become their actual friends. Still, it’s probably in the back of all of their minds that there can only be one winner of BB7 and, as James said countless times, “Big Brother is not a team sport.” Maybe that’s what’s troubling Kaysar and the rest of the Big Brother 6 alliance. Though the power’s been in their favor the entire game so far, they know that at some point that will stop and one of them will have to go home. The tension in their group is amazing because they know the party is eventually going to be over. For me, and a lot of other viewers I’m sure, that’s going to be one sad day. It’s no secret that BB6 is the fan favorite and it’s going to be a real bummer to see some Yoko come in and break up the band.

That being said, I do think there’s some merit to what Jase said about decompression time. Everyone else in the house has had some time to go back to their normal lives in the years since their season. With the BB6 crew, they went directly from one season to another; it’s become like their summer job. They haven’t had enough time back in the real world to be able to put the game into proper perspective. The game, right now, is all they have and it’s all they live for. This makes them the toughest competitors in the house, but it also sends their stress levels through the roof. They fight with each other more during their own HoH weeks than they did last year when they were getting picked off. They’re used to being the underdogs after battling the Nerd Herd, so they’re a bit shaky with the enormous power they’ve had this season. Even their strategic moves of eliminating floaters show that they want to return the game to the way it was last season. They want a polarized house with two teams going head to head as opposed to small groups and floaters. That’s the game they know.

On top of the game stuff, the only glimpse of the outside world they’ve seen for the past two years has been publicity for the season they were just on, or the one they were promoting for this summer. They know they’re fan favorites and we all count on them to make the game entertaining, but sometimes they can’t understand that it IS just a game and that there’s a whole world outside of the Big Brother walls.

Anyway, it was my birthday on the 23rd and I haven’t been glued to the feeds this week, so I have a lot of catching up to do. I’d love to hear your theories on Big Brother blues and all the rest.

The Fall of the Jedi?

n the last post, I wrote about a tremor in the force when things began to fall apart for BB6. Now, it seems that things have really gotten out of hand.

First of all, James won HoH this week for the first time in his BB career. Everyone had high hopes after all the crap he talked about Kaysar’s soft nominations the week before. I seem to remember “this is a team effort and we need to take out our biggest threats!” being said more than a few times. Despite all that talk, James failed to put his money where his mouth is and nominated Will and Chicken George as opposed to any combination of Will/Jase/Boogie. I still love them the most, but this season 6 crew has become a disappointing bunch!

In a shocking turn of events, Chicken George managed to win the power of veto despite his lame track record in competitions. What will the BB6ers do now? Let’s hope they wise up and go after Chill Town with guns blazing! It’s doubtful that the house will realize what a great opportunity they have to show the Evil Doctor a thing or two, so they need to nominate Boogie or Jase to ensure that one of Will’s minions is eliminated this week.

What could possibly be more shocking than that turn of events, you ask? Well get this: I turned on the live feeds today after a brief hiatus to find that my gorgeous Kaysar just shaved his head! No more thick lustrous locks?! If anyone witnessed the event on the feeds and could explain to me why, oh why, Kaysar did this, I’d love to hear it. Now I fear that the BB6 alliance has really lost it. What’s next, Janie as a brunette?! I just don’t think I can take anymore eye-candy-tampering.

Anyway BB fans, I’m going to listen in to see who James decides to nominate as George’s replacement. Think positive thoughts with me… Boogie…Boogie…Boogie! C’mon guys, as my friend Dicky Cockerson once said, “pull your tampon out and sack up!” This is their second chance at this game and they’ve won HoH three-count em’ three- times! CBS is practically handing it to them. They need to get their heads straight and get in the game.

If anyone needs me, I’ll be in mourning for Kaysar’s hair.

Week 2: A Tremor in the Force

Week 2 and already so much to talk about…

First, I must admit I was totally stoked when Kaysar won HoH. This entire time, the only person I really want to watch is him, and I was going to be so mad if he was the second one evicted. Nothing could have been better than for him to have total immunity.

Like most of you, I expected great things from Kaysar’s reign. I hoped for a great strategic move that would allow BB6 to rule the house for weeks to come. I hoped he would make a bold move and nominate Will and Mike “Boogie”, the two most annoying people ever to play the game. I figured this would be the most probable course of action because both those two douches had made it extremely clear that they were going after Kaysar. They want to be the stars of the show and their egos just can’t handle someone else being in the spotlight… but I’ll get to that later. I was constantly on the live feeds and Big Brother Chat (http://chat.bigbrotherchatter.com) trying to find out the inside scoop and get all the updates on what was going on in the house. Imagine my reaction when I found out that Kaysar, my absolute favorite and the one I had the highest hopes for, had not nominated the two biggest threats but instead, two harmless girls who were the only ones left in their pitiful alliance. Like the rest of BB6, I was totally disappointed. The move wasn’t strategic at all, it was a cop out, and that’s coming from someone who adores Kaysar.

Kaysar later explained to his infuriated team that he thought long and hard about what to do and decided upon the nominations without consulting them because he figured it was the best move. He said that he didn’t want to nominate Will and Boogie because if he was the person who got one of them out, it would make him a star of the house, the King of Big Brother. He was afraid that this kind of attention would make him an enormous target. While I understand not wanting to draw attention to yourself as a force to be reckoned with, sometimes you have to make bold moves for the good of the house and your team! Do you think Dorothy was afraid of becoming a target for the flying monkeys when she dropped the house on the Wicked Witch? Kaysar would have been a hero not only to his team, but to all the viewers who are increasingly annoyed with Will and Boogie’ s circle jerk. Alas, I feel like this is going to be one of those moves that comes back to haunt BB6 just like last year when Maggie manipulated Howie into nominating James and Sara, two members of his own alliance, as opposed to taking down the obnoxious Nerd Herd. I only hope BB6 can control the HoH position for another week, time enough to clean up this mess.

The other big controversy this week involves the Evil Doctor himself, Will Kirby. I don’t think I’m alone in saying that I feel a bit ripped off by Will’s in-house behavior. While Will wasn’t voted back into the house by viewers, much to his shock and horror I’d imagine, he was placed in the house as one of CBS’ picks. I’m sure the network, like most of us, expected the charming, sexy and manipulative Dr. Will of BB2. What we got was a puffy, pale, over-Botoxed, self-righteous, egomaniacal, aging and washed-up has-been of the former fan favorite. Who is the new Dr. Will and what has he done with the hottie we all knew and loved? Sure, Will had brief moments of humor, like when he told Kaysar he was the “Brad Pitt of Muslims”, but for the most part, I feel like this whole show is now CBS puckering up and kissing Will’s ass for no reason. He has made them his bitch. He makes diva demands at the drop of a hat, his sleazy diary room comments are vomit inducing, and he constantly sings, talks about prohibited content, or plugs his business endeavors just to sabotage the live feeds into dumping out to the oh-so-annoying fire shot. Perhaps it’s his way of taking revenge on viewers who didn’t vote him back in, but it’s gone beyond moderately annoying to down right malicious. That’s why I’ve decided to say, screw Dr. Will! I won’t watch feeds that he’s on or feeds where I can hear his voice. I won’t ever vote for him on the “Love ‘Em or Leave ‘Em” poll on the official website, and I just might start fast-forwarding through any of his diary room segments from now on.

My only hope now, seeing as Kaysar’s week is already at a close, is that whoever wins HoH tonight makes the right decision and nominates horrible Dr. Will and his fugly flunky Boogie for eviction. They’re aging has-beens who have no place in a game with superstars like Janelle and Kaysar. While I can’t be sure if anyone else has the guts to do it, I know Janelle and James would be willing to eliminate this irritating duo. That’s my optimistic prediction for next week: either James or Janelle as HoH and Boogie and Will on the block. It really doesn’t matter which one goes at this point, just as long as one of the members of “Chill Town” (the name alone makes me puke) is gone next Thursday.

Episode 1: The Phanton Menace

The BB7 season is upon us and I bring you my opinion of this season's heroes and villains. Though there has only been one show so far, I've been fanatically watching the live internet feeds... And here's my opinion so far. Who's stock has soared, and who's has plummeted?

THE GOOD GUYS
Janelle- This 'buxom blonde' has proven that she's as tough as she is gorgeous winning competition after competition. Though it's not officially been spoken, she's the leader of the BB6 alliance this season and sits opposed to the evil doctor as one of the strongest players in the house.

Jase- Can a man transition from a shirtless douche bag into a likeable class clown? Jase proved that the answer is a resounding yes with his 'lay low' strategy and smart-ass quips that rival even the evil doctor's wit. Many are left wondering when the real Jase will come out... Because no one can change THAT much!

Danielle- I never thought I'd see the day when I actually hope that this master manipulator DOESN'T get evicted. She should stay because she poses no immediate threat, but also because she makes for good feeds with the way she can pull personal information out of the house guests without them realizing. Just look at the conversation she had with Kaysar as she got him to open up about women, his family and even a Yanni concert.

Kaysar- You know I couldn't do one of these lists without giving props to my boy! He's looking fine and playing his cards close this season, a good move in this ego pageant. By not intentionally stealing the spotlight, he keeps the house from viewing him as a threat and hopefully that will keep him in the game for longer than last year.

THE BAD GUYS
Mike 'Boogie'- Not only is Boogie an aging star wannabe, but he and Will believe they control the show, the live feeds, the viewers, and the network. It will be a pleasure watching BB6 burst his little ego bubble!

Dr. Will- The man who came into the game as a legend will probably leave with the reputation of D-list reality diva. Will's 'us vs the viewers' attitude grew old fast as he intentionally sabotaged the live feeds and paraded around like lord of the manor. With all the trash he talks about BB, one can't help but wonder why he signed up for another season. I half expect him to pull a Jeri Manthey and split before the show's over just as the notorious Survivor villain did at their infamous All-Star reunion show.

Dianne- We all know Alison's evil, but we weren't sure about Dianne until she joined forces with the devil herself. The worst part about Dianne is her constant transparent attempts to seem confident. How many times has she said that she isn't going to fall for Will or that she isn't jealous of Janie? Viewers are left thinking, 'that's right, keep telling yourself that and maybe someday it'll come true.' Dianne was strong on her season, but she'll leave this house looking like a pathetic groopy.

Howie- It pains me to say this, but Hurricane Howie seems to be wearing out his welcome. No matter which feed you watch, you can always hear Howie's loud repetitive jokes in the background. He follows Will around like a puppy and is too easily swayed by the line of lies the D-listers feed him. While I hope BB6 stays together, look for Howie to be the first one targeted when things get ugly.

The Guilty Pleasure Returns!

My absolute favorite guilty pleasure is back! Big Brother is back on the air tonight. This season should be especially great for me because it’s an All-Star season of past cast members. I have watched every episode of Big Brother since season one, back when me and two other people were the only ones watching. Since then, I’ve watched the ratings grow and the rules change. Now America decides who competes. We have 20 former Houseguests to choose from including 5 from last season alone! I thought I’d list who I predict will be chosen and why.

Dr. Will - season 2 winner – Not only was Will hot (Orlando Bloom crossed with Adam Brody and Ron Livingston), but he played a great game. He managed to lie to every single person in the house and was nominated nearly every single time and he still won the game. He is built to play on Big Brother. It will definitely be a great summer with Will back in the game!

Marcellas – season 3 favorite – Marcellas was probably the most likeable cast member in history. He was charming and charismatic, funny, sweet, and told amazing stories. He was made for television. It was a complete tragedy when he unselfishly decided not to use the Veto to save himself and was subsequently voted out. He will be a great identification point for the audience, but that might also make him a big target in the game.

Kaysar – season 6 fan favorite – Even typing Kaysar’s name is hot! No cast member has ever been hotter than this sexy smart Iraqi. He will go down in history as one of the most popular cast members of all time. In fact, people were so outraged upon his eviction by that horrible “Friend Sheep” group that CBS let America vote him back into the house by an overwhelming 82%! Unfortunately for us, this might make him a major target when (that's right 'when', not 'if') he gets back into the game this season.

Janelle – season 6 buxom blonde – Janie and Kaysar were like the Brangelina of the Big Brother house. They were hot and smart and played the hell out of the game. They formed an unlikely friendship and managed to torture the Friend Sheep for weeks on end! What was best about Janie was that she was a team player 100%. The two times Kaysar got voted out, she was there to take vengeance on the annoying jerks who did it.

Howie – season 6 Jedi master – Howie may not have been the smartest guy in the house that season, or the best looking, but Howie had personality to spare. He was hilarious and sweet at the same time as being offensive and chauvinistic, truly an accomplishment. His Star Wars analogies reminded you of a classic nerd, but the way he taunted Busto (AKA April) was more like the smart-ass jock at your high school. Howie could go far in this game because people frequently underestimate him.

James – season 6 master manipulator – While James’ strategy was essentially the same as Dr. Will’s, he would make a great adversary to the Evil Doctor this time around. There can only be one King of the Liars and it would be so fun to watch them battle it out.

Jase – season 5 “man-dana” wearing monkey boy – Jase was loud and obnoxious and completely annoying, but for some reason he was able to stay on the audience’s good side because he was also funny. While a lot of his humor seemed unintentional, his weird behavior and diary room clips were incredibly amusing. In the end, it was great to watch Jase get exactly what was coming to him in one of the greatest reveals of BB history. When he discovered that the girl he’d just been screaming at was actually a set of twins who had been playing the game as one person, the look on his face was just like the Mastercard commercials… priceless.

Nakomis – season 5 genius – Nakomis came into the house as the goth kid outcast and managed to get everyone on her side because of her careful planning and strategizing. She is most well known as the inventor of the “Six Finger Plan”, something that is attempted, but never successfully pulled off, by contestants to this day. In this plan, she nominated two of her own people ensuring that her side would win the Veto, then the actual target would have no way of getting off the chopping block once evictions came. While her outward style might not fit in, I could see her aligning with Kaysar’s group and playing a smart game all the way to the end.

Alison – season 4 runner up and uber bitch – It hurts me to say it, but I think America won’t be able to resist watching this horrible Tanya Harding wannabe club her way to the top once again. While there’s no way I can bring myself to voting for her, I know people will want to see how she’ll interact with smart guys who won’t fall for her creepy seduction like Kaysar and Will. I wouldn’t count on her making it very far because everyone knows her game.

Mike “Boogie” – season 2 douche and media whore – In case you didn’t know, and haven’t heard him say it a million times, Mike is a friend and business partner of Aston Kutcher. While he apparently has a fan base, Mike always rubbed me the wrong way because of his enormous ego. The real star of season 2 was Will and everyone knows that, everyone except for Mike.

Lisa – season 3 winner – Lisa was the only player to ever play a fair game and win the $500,000. She was beautiful, smart, and always sweet. She managed to fly under the radar, even when she was the one nominating people for eviction. If she plays the same kind of game, Lisa could get far in this game, but because she’s already won, America might not let her enter the house again.

Dianne – season 5 tough girl – Little diminutive Dianne could go head to head with the vapid guys on the show and she could take down the girls too. She didn’t take crap, and that was something great, but in the end, she got played… by her own boyfriend! This left us all wondering if it was really strategy that got her so far, or just dumb luck. She’d be a bit of a wildcard and it would be nice to see if she could stir things up this season.

While these are just my predictions, my hope is that Kaysar and Dr. Will will get voted back in and that one of the two will win. That seems very doubtful seeing as everyone knows they’re good players, and that’ll make them easy targets in the house.If you read this page, and even if you’ve never seen Big Brother before, go to CBS.com to vote for one of the people in green above and be sure to watch this season starting July 6th on CBS!
